Comments Policy

Comments submitted to LA News Desk are screened before they appear on the site. In general, all serious comments will be posted. However, LA News Desk reserves the right to edit, block, or remove any comment at our sole discretion. LA News Desk does not verify the identity of people who comment on our site. However, posting a comment under someone else's name is likely illegal. You accept all responsibility for the contents of your comment.

General guidelines to increase the chances of your comment being accepted:

  • Avoid personal attacks
  • Avoid trolling (posting controversial or irrelevant material with the intention of disrupting on-topic discussion or of provoking an emotional response)
  • Don't post anonymously
  • Use common sense and be considerate!

If your comment is approved, it will typically appear on the site within 24 hours. However, we are not responsible for any delays.

If part of your comment is deemed inappropriate, your comment will be posted in an edited form, preceded by an explanatory message. For example: "<-- Comment Edited For Profanity -->". LA News Desk will never edit a comment to change the views expressed by its author.

If your comment is rejected, it will appear in the comment thread with its contents replaced by a notification reading: "<-- Comment Rejected By Moderator -->". You will not receive any other notification that your comment was rejected.
